Dave Syverson is a lifelong Illinois resident, husband, father, grandfather, small business owner, and citizen legislator, who has spent decades fighting to make Illinois a better place to live, work, and raise families.

Raised with strong Midwestern values, Dave understands the importance of faith, family, and personal responsibility. Before entering public service, he built his career in the private sector, giving him firsthand experience with the challenges facing small businesses, workers, and taxpayers across Illinois.

Dave proudly serves the residents of northern Illinois in the State Senate, where he has been a consistent voice for fiscal responsibility, strong public safety, Seniors, the developmentally disabled, improving the states jobs climate and more.

Dave believes government needs to live within its means like taxpayers do. With that in mind Dave leads by example; as a Senator he has never accepted a pay raise and has donated that and more to help local charities serving our communities.

Dave and his wife Lori believe the final chapter on Illinois has not been written. Illinois can be stronger, more affordable, and full of opportunities for our families. However, it takes more than wishing for change, that is why they have committed their lives and resources to making Illinois a place you can proudly call home.
